Invitation to Contribute to the Watershed Bulletin 2025

Dear Esteemed Members of the IASWC,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. It gives me great pleasure to convey our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming response received from members of IASWC for the previous edition of the Watershed Bulletin. Your enthusiastic participation and valuable contributions made it a meaningful and inspiring publication, reflecting the collective strength and vision of our community.

As we prepare for the upcoming 2025 edition of the Watershed Bulletin, I am delighted to invite fresh contributions from all members. The Watershed Bulletin continues to serve as a vibrant platform for sharing ideas, experiences, innovations, and insights in the field of soil and water conservation. It aims to capture success stories, research highlights, critical observations, news updates, and personal accomplishments that celebrate our shared commitment to sustainable land and water management. For the forthcoming issue, I urge all members to make an extra effort to bring in inspiring success stories from State Watershed Development Programmes, credible NGOs active in land and water resource management, and Farmers’ fields, where grassroots innovations and participatory approaches have made a tangible impact. Such real-world examples not only demonstrate the strength of local initiatives but also serve as learning models for replication and scaling up across diverse agro-ecological regions.

To strengthen inclusivity and outreach, I once again encourage our members and regional centers of ICAR-IISWC to connect with state soil and water conservation departments, identify dedicated field professionals, and invite them to join our collaborative efforts. Their insights from on-ground implementation will enrich the Bulletin with authentic perspectives from across the nation. Likewise, we welcome partnerships with credible NGOs and progressive farmers whose contributions have advanced watershed development and livelihood security.

Let us continue to use this platform to recognize and celebrate the transformative work being done at all levels — from policy to practice, from laboratories to landscapes. I look forward to your continued enthusiasm, thoughtful articles, and inspiring stories for the Watershed Bulletin 2025. Together, let us continue to inspire, innovate, and strengthen the movement for sustainable land and water conservation in India.
